CĂNTIR 2019 - Miguel MilĂĄ Clay Jug
"The botijo has taught me more than I could ever give back to it. Today, more than ever, objects need to be sustainable. It is better to see a broken botijo than an abandoned plastic bottle. As a designer, my task has simply become making its use comfortable in todayâs world." - Miguel MilĂĄ
For this edition, the Museu del CĂ ntir and the Friends of the Museum invited Miguel MilĂĄ to reinterpret the traditional Spanish clay water jug, a botijo. The aim is to renew the museumâs collection by connecting timeless forms with contemporary use.
Each piece is handcrafted by a select group of artisans using glazed pisa ceramic.
This limited edition, is the result of a functional and enduring object shaped by tradition and thoughtful design.
