ANTIFĂMINA - Colita, MÂȘ AurĂšlia Capmany Book
AntifĂ©mina was originally published in 1977 by Editora Nacional, but was immediately withdrawn from the market by the publisher itself and is today a practically untraceable cult book. It has even earned a dedicated exhibition at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina SofĂa to vindicate its status as a pioneer of the feminist movement in Spain. With unrelenting texts by MÂȘ AurĂšlia Capmany and compelling photographs by Colita, the book was a shock in the fragile climate of the democratic transition succeeding the fascist dictatorship.
45 years later, with the efforts and leadership of Archivo Colita FotografĂa, which has located and restored the original negatives, and through a co-production of Terranova and the City Council of Barcelona, AntifĂ©mina sees the light again in a new editionâpersonally supervised by Colitaâwhich takes advantage of the current technical excellence to show the photographs as the author would have originally wished.
MÂș Aurelia Capmanyâs texts, who passed away some years ago, have been respected in their integrity to pay homage to her memory and to demonstrate, unfortunately, the absolute validity of her denunciations and reflections.
An essential book for art lovers, those interested in History and scholars of gender perspectives.
